Homeowners?
Who do you have for your homeowners? I just got dropped from State Farm for having two claims in 19 years.
I will shop around but wondering if anyone found a good price and is happy with the company they chose. And will I be penalized for having a claim (like having an auto accident)?

Wow that's absurd. We have Allstate but have never put in a claim so IDK about that.

Re: Homeowners?
Geico, but have never put in a claim. Have them bundled with my car.
We dropped State Farm when all our premiums started going up, and we got the most absurd reasons why the car premiums kept going up.

Narragansett Bay. We were dropped by State Farm after Sandy. They've been great.

We have utica national bundled with auto. We went to them after state farm doubled are rates and halved our coverage. I won't use Allstate.

Re: Homeowners?
Narragansett Bay but I suggest going through a broker. I used the one recommended on here (Jennifer Jennings) and she found me the best price and the best price ended up be me going to different companies for auto and house.

Homeowners?
Thank you. My agent actually called me today to see if I got the letter and asked if I wanted a referral to a broker (who happens to be the husband of the woman that owns the agency) and I thought that was weird and slightly inappropriate.
But she did tell me something I didn't know. Apparently there were two instances where we had something happen (leak or tree fall or something) and we called to discuss a claim, but when we got estimates realized with the deductible it wasn't worth it, so we cancelled the "claim". Apparently these are seen as strikes against you even though no money was paid out. Crazy right?? Seems kind of ridiculous, but may be a heads up for you guys to not do that.

I actually don’t think the agent was being inappropriate. A broker can deal with multiple carriers while an agent only deals with one carrier so she was trying to help you since the broker can market it and find you the best policy and rate.
