home magazines!
Now that we are officially under contract ( ), I want to buy or subscribe to a good home design or style magazine... something for inspiration for paint colors or layouts etc.
i want a creative magazine but not one that has exorbitant priced items that I cant buy since all my money will be going to the house!
any recommendations?

I really love Better Homes and Gardens -- they always have interesting features on design, including paint colors and how to maximize space. And I think a lot of their featured items are accessible and affordable to the average person.
I also like House Beautiful magazine, but I don't subscribe to that one, so I am not as familiar.

i love house beautiful. i borrow them from the library. also, veranda, traditional home and dwell. if you like cottage-style, there's country living and coastal living.

I personally love looking at catalogues-- and they are free! I get a lot of ideas from there. Also from watching shows on HGTV.

Traditional Home
Veranda
Better Homes & Gardens Special Interest Publications
And Fine Homebuilding has some great ideas!

I subscribe to House Beautiful and I love it. So much inspiration and ideas in it. This Old House is also very nice but I like it best for lots of DIY projects.

me too.. i could care less about the articles or their interviews with certain designers.. just show me PICS!
I love decorpad and rate my space too (online).. and I have a gazillion blogs I follow on interior design.
