Home inspection is today!
We ended up going with an engineer, thanks to everyone's suggestion. What, if anything, do I need to know/look for? Are there any questions I should be asking or do I just take a step back and let the engineer do his thing? I am so nervous and excited!

Good luck with the inspection!
Definitely walk through the house with the engineer, and feel free to ask questions. The good inspectors I've worked with always take the time to explain what they are looking for/at to the customer and answer questions. Then, at the end, the inspector should talk to you and your agent to recap and point out any major concerns.
If you feel overwhelmed, don't worry - you will get an in-depth written report to review, and you can always contact the inspector again later to ask questions or get clarification.
Keep in mind that it's the engineer's job to point out each and every little thing with the house, so don't get offput if it seems like he is "finding" a lot of issues. Home inspectors also inform you of "best practices," so your may point out upgrades or things you can do going forward, but those are not necessarily defects. He is just educating you on the house and suggesting things you can do to best maintain it.
As an agent, I am usually most concerned with any structural, plumbing, or electrical defects. Those are the things that need to be addressed, in my view. But there are always "minor" things and normal wear and tear with any house, so just keep that in mind and don't freak.
Good luck!
