I got an ornament foam craft at dollar store. She used glue and put it together. Not sure if he can glue but she loved it.

You could paint LOs hand green and make handprints and then turn them upside down to make a Christmas tree. I did this with my DD on small canvases and then hot glued a ribbon to the top and used glitter glue to decorate the handprint like a Christmas tree. I made one for each set of grandparents and my own tree that year. Super cute.
Oh, and I also Mod Podged strips of Christmas paper to the sides of the canvas to make it even more festive.

Google salt ornament. It's salt, flour and water basically and make the shape (cookie cutters or hand print) punch a hole with a straw and make 200f three hours.
I did the hand print with my 10 month old and almost 3 year old ( he helped mix it ). Now I will paint them like Santa- Google it you'll see! I don't know how to link on phone
