hmm question about finding out....
about the gender. we dont want to be told in the office. we want them to write it down on a paper for us to look at later.
but ... there is a big tv in front of dh and i at the drs office that shows what the tech sees.
if the tech is looking for the gender and we are looking at the same time...wont we see the twig and berries or the twinkie?
do we have to close our eyes? lol ty

They can turn the screen away from you but if you catch a glimpse and it's clear you will definitely know

My friend just had her 20wk scan and she said they were told to cover their eyes a lot so they didn't see.

we told the tech that we def did not want to know. so she went very quick over the area and we looked away.

We were Team  with #1. Our tech said we didn't need to look away b/c she scans that area quickly and we probably wouldn't even know what we were looking at. She was right. I didn't even know when she was looking at the sex organs.

I really did not know what I was looking at. For a while everyone thought "girl" and I thought I saw the three lines but a second tech told me that was the umbilical cord and later it was the pelvis!
Anyways, my point is you might not be able to tell.

they told us to close our eyes. however by the end I was having so many sonos and didnt ever close my eyes, it helps when you dont know what you are looking at

When the sono first started I thought I saw a penis but it must have been the cord because it's a girl. When they checked specifically for the sex I didn't see a penis but I didn't see anything that looked like girl parts either, even after they were pointed out.
Honestly I would have had no idea based on the sonogram. My husband was able to identify body parts so much better than I was!
