Hire Entertainment or Pool Party

DS's 1st birthday is in July.
We have an inground pool with a "safety fence" around it.

For Mason's 1st birthday we were on LI so had a backyard party at my parent's house in NJ (it was the end of May) and hired a music person to entertain the kids. We invited a lot of people... Our big families and friends with their kids.

Last year for his 2nd birthday we didn't have the fence up yet (we had it installed the next weekend), but had a small pool party with just friends. I hired a lifeguard for a few hours and it turned out nice. Also, there was only about 10 kids.

Now Brayden will be 1 in July. We were thinking of a pool party, but want to keep half the safety fence up. This would leave the steps opened and open by the diving board.

THere's going to be a lot more people b/c it's a first and didn't want to have to worry about big kids running around the little ones.

Anyway... thoughts? Stick with pool party in July and no entertainment?
You think it's ok to keep up part of the fence?
Thanks

In 90 deg weather I would rather be jumping in a pool...also you said its a bigger crowd, with that being said it will be difficult to get everyones attention for the entertainment.

I say Pool Party!!! Chat Icon

I think it depends how you plan on having it set up.

D is a July baby also and in the past all my summer parties have been outside and only outside, unless it rains of course. If people want to cool off they usually come into the house for a few minutes and then go back out. I do put the food inside because of bugs but that is all.

So if you keep it strictly outside then I would do pool. You need all the other space for seating.

If you plan on having it in/outdoor then I would do both.
