Re: high beta level question
When you say you're 4.5 weeks pregnant, do you mean that you got pregnant (ovulated) 4.5 weeks ago? Or that your last period started 4.5 weeks ago? (Which is the typical definition)
If you're 4.5 weeks pregnant, then you're about 17 days past ovulation. Check out this chart:
Reported Beta Numbers for singletons
Betas up to 9000 were reported in women who went on to have healthy pregnancies.

If you ovulated on 2/9, then you're 20 days past ovulation now. Look at the chart: the average Beta for 20 dpo is 2386. If you're off by even two days, the average for 22 dpo would be 5020. So it sounds like you can relax! Congratulations!
(Oh, and for the record, I only had betas done at 13 dpo and 15 dpo, and each time the numbers were more than TRIPLE the average listed on this site... on the chart for twins. I was freaking out too, imagining like 6 babies in there. But it's confirmed I only have one baby in there and I'm almost 15 wks pg now. So mine was just an early implanter or - my theory - an overachiever already. )
