Hick's Nursery Christmas Event?

I keep seeing pictures posted on FB from Hick's Nursery with Santa and a lot of decorations.

All their website says is that you can come and meet Santa and take a picture with your camera. They also have two reindeer.

Do they do other things there? Has anyone ever been?

It's a MUST GO TO! I take my kids there every year for their free santa photos (With your own camera. They had the same real- looking santa there the past 5 years Ive gone) They have the 2 reindeer and ALSO a amazing christmas walk through live-story. It's like a hallway with about 8 or so sections of story telling and at the end they have a mailbox for santa letters. A great place to get your Christmas card photos taken. Also a great place for Halloween season as well . Here's a few pics from a few days ago so you know what to expect.

Re: Hick's Nursery Christmas Event?

We went this past wednesday and while there were a lot of photo opportunities I was pretty disappointed with Santa. He was so nice but even my kids were like, "who is that? That's not Santa."

It is the same santa that they have had for at least 5 years.

But yes my 5 year old told him that he wasn't the real santa who is in the north pole but one of bis helpers. He had her pull his beard saying it was real and he was the real thing. Of course when she said she wanted an american girl doll he said which one there are 14 or more of them.Chat Icon she said you mean you don't know? Chat Icon

I felt the same way about Santa. He doesn't look like the real Santa!!!! Lol. But that man was so nice. He let us take so many pics with my dd with him until we got he perfect one. He went out of his way to help us get the perfect shot! It was super sweet. So I still recommend it. Plus hicks is awesome for pics!!!! There are so many cute setups for photo ops. I may do my Christmas card pics there from now on.

Re: Hick's Nursery Christmas Event?

Just got back. We had a wonderful day out checking out the displays, meeting santa, watching the band play and then going out to eat afterward. Santa, while somewhat slim, was a very jolly, nice man. Peter had fun and we got some great pics.

AND we went to this AMAZING railcar diner afterward on 2nd street in mineola called Biscuits and BBQ ...it was DELICIOUS! I had jambalaya mac and cheese and DH had the braised short ribs.

Re: Hick's Nursery Christmas Event?

We had a nice time even though DD is only ~14mos. She actually had a reaction to the displays this year and it was amazing to see her face light up. She doesn't like Santa at the moment so we didn't wait on the line (we did pics at the mall last week anyway). The reindeer were sleeping but that didn't bother me, I'm sure they get tired too!

I did recognize a few kids from these boards/FB groups, but I can't remember who they belong to, lol!

Thanks for the update! We ended up not going on Sunday. We are going to try to get there this weekend.
