Hi, I am new & concerned.....
I tested positive this past weekend and called the ob/gyn today and the soonest appointment (for 1st visit) they wanted to give me was for 2 weeks from now.
Is that normal, or should I be concerned that it's so far away and they don't seem alarmed to have it so far away?
Luckily my DH wrote me a rx for prenatals & I have been taking them since April, but to not do blood work and such to see how far I am and that all is ok???

Re: Hi, I am new & concerned.....
ok really?
So even though I got positives, they are not concerned then?
I can have my DH job do blood work on me, but I just don't want to not seem unimportant now, cause then how will I be treated, but if it's normal ok.
I guess I have so many question and want to be sure how I am feeling is normal.

Totally normal....alot of doctors won't see you until you are at least 8 weeks. The doctors that tend to see you before then are the fertility doctors. Congratulations!!!

Re: Hi, I am new & concerned.....
When I finally saw the doctor at week 8, they gave me a dollar tree test to do there. Even DH said 'Hey, that's the dollar tree test. You already took enough of those.'
It is frustrating to wait. I spent my time taking pregnancy tests up until my appt.

Re: Hi, I am new & concerned.....
Normal. In fact, I am surprised they are seeing you so soon. When I called my OB after I got my BFP with my 2nd baby, they did not schedule me for my 1st appointment till a whole month after I got my positive test. By then, I was 8-9 weeks already.
Congrats!

Re: Hi, I am new & concerned.....
very normal for first time pregnancies and non risk patients. My first pregnancy I went at 6 weeks, originally had an appoitnment set for 8weeks, but thought I was having complications. Second pregnancy I went in at 6 weeks as well. And with this one I also tested positive on Saturday and have an appointment Thursday to mainly do my level testing. since I lost the previous pregnancy they are more cautious to make sure this pregnancy is viable.
I know what you mean though and I think that woman should be seen immedietly to get their vits. blood work and consult.
