So ive been on bedrest since 17 weeks, and will continue to be on bedrest , So my mother and i were thnking about having my shower early when im 27 weeks, which is 6 weeks away. Since we dont know if i will be put in the hospital later on in the pregnancy. Is 27 weeks way too early??

Re: Hey Ladies, Shower question

I don't think so at all. My SIL just was hospitalized at 29 wks (she's having twins) and put on bedrest there for the duration of her pregnancy. Her shower is planned for in a couple of weeks. Don't know what is going to happen now....

My shower was at 30 weeks... I think 27 is fine, especially in your situation!Chat Icon

Re: Hey Ladies, Shower question

I think 27 weeks is fine.
I would be more concerned with HOW you are doing the shower. If you are still on bedrest, I would make sure the shower is in your home and that you stay in bed during the bulk of the shower. My cousin did this, we went into the room to visit with her in small groups and then she came out to open her gifts and went straight back to bed.
It sounds a little weird, but you don't want to be up for a long period of time putting that pressure on your cervix.
