hey everyone..
dh and i have been trying 8 months and after a loss in june and clomid not working so far we are taking the next step and have a appt with Dr.B..
they are maling me paperwork and was just wondering what i can expect on the first visit..is t just talking or is a exam involved

my first appt with Dr. B was just talking...no exam. I am not sure if that varies depending on the case or if that is the norm.

mine was all talking. it was a good appt though. he went through all the paperwork and discussed all the info with you.
he then asks other questions.
explains things and comes up with a game plan for testing and procedures. he is informative... so if you have an questions to ask make sure you ask him. he will tell you everything.
i'm happy you are seeing him Gina. you will be in good hands.

i just started seeing dr. b. at our first appointment we did a lot of talking about our history. he explained the testing that he'll do and the reasons for it. the day i was there happened to be cd3 so he did a sono and took some blood. he's really laid back and easy to talk to!

I had lots of records because I already knew I had PCOS from when I was a teen. I brought all my records and he looked at it and basically confirmed what I already knew that it was PCOS. We came up with a plan, etc. and he sent me on my way- no exam that day- though it wasn't necessary. I was on CD60 something so he gave me provera and told me to come back on CD3 to get started.
I left feeling VERY optimistic! He told me based on everything he would be surprised if I wasn't pregnant by the summer (it was January) .. I ended up getting a bfp the weekend of Mother's Day. Unfortunately, I had a loss in August.. I think you know the rest......
3rd IUI cycle post-loss coming up ..... hopefully my last for many years!

i had a full exam at my first appt. he did a consult in the office where we reviewed history for about a half hour to 45 mins. then i had a sono and bloodwork. i was somewhere in the CD60s at the time. he pretty much diagnosed me with PCOS at the appointment, but confirmed with a phone call a few days later where my LH from the bloodwork was super elevated (a common issue with PCOS).
great choice, he is one of my favorite people in the world!!

YAY!!!!! SO glad you are seeing Dr. B. The first meeting will start in his office where you will answer questions. Its good tommy goes too. he will ask him stuff too.
Then you will have an internal.
And he will most likely draw blood and write a script out for a sperm analysis for tommy to go to a lab.
He likes to check you both out, to get all the pieces of the puzzle together.
When you leave the appt. you will have a course of action!!!

I go to him as well. He is really nice and the staff has always been nice and accomodating to me.
He will go over your paperwork, and just tlk about different options...send u for some testing and go from there! He is always there for questions so after your finished and you forgot to ask him something, he will get right back to you
