Here is the situation on private rooms at Winthrop

I just delivered there on Friday. They really do try and give everyone a single room now if at all possible. But towards the end of the week they are very busy with scheduled c-secs. I delivered early Friday morning at 4:33am, and did not get into a room until 9am because they were so full. I had a room mate in that room. By 3pm I was moved to a private room. They told me it goes by time of delivery. So, even though I was #5 on the list, 6 people were being discharged Friday so that is how come I was able to be moved. (Does that make sense?)

When I delivered my son 2 years ago I had to pay for my private room.
Hope this helps explain their policy!

Im scheduled for a C Section on June 14th. With DD we paid for a private room but this time with a mortgage and all we really cant do it! Plus with a 16 month old at home..im planning on staying as long as allowed!

I had ds there almost 2 years ago and I paid for a private room also.
