Help. Which of these party times would you prefer? - ADDED QUESTION

With only a little over 1 month to go I decided to have a birthday party for my soon to be 3 year old DS.

The entertainment I want is mostly booked but they have 2 slots on the weekend I want, neither of which is ideal.

Which of these would you prefer for a 3 yr old party? It's outside in October so the days get cooler much earlier. Most people are local (and strangers since it will be DS' new class).

1. Saturday at 11:30 AM - with pizza lunch at 12:15, entertainment from 1-2, free playtime and cake to follow until 3ish

or

2. Sunday 12:30PM - with pizza lunch at 1:15, entertainment from 2-3, playtime cake until 4ish

I *think* most people would prefer an early saturday party that way they have the rest of the day to do whatever. I always thought people disliked Sunday parties (maybe I'm wrong). But if people go to church the 12:30 time may be difficult, i don't now.

Which would you prefer for the 2-3 yr old set?

ETA: If I do the Saturday party, should I have it start at 12? Animals will come at 1. Can I assume people will come on time and that the kids will eat and be done by 1? This way the party is 12-3 and doesn't seem so long. Cake still at 2:15/2:30 and people can leave right after if they please.

Honestly... I think either are perfectly fine for the age and dates. It's Fall and still both early in the day. Usually for summer I would say early Saturday, but you can't go wrong with either one. Figure what's best for you.
My boys do eat closer to 12:30ish so maybe Saturday would be better, but at parties they are so occupied with the kids and entertainment they don't care as much about food.

I would do Saturday at 11:30. I personally would do lunch and cake right after instead of waiting to do cake at the end.

You will have people leaving at various times and some may miss singing happy birthday.

Lunch and cake right after is tough bc I figure that if I say 11:30, people will arrive around 12. (i'd have lunch delivered at set by 12:15.) The kids then have to sit to eat and be cleaned up prior to the entertainment which involves animals (so no eating while the animals are out). Lunch and cake in 45 minutes seems rushed.

ETA: I figured cake at 2:30 after the animals are gone and everyone is cleaned up from touching the animals. Then people can stay and play for a bit if they want, or leave, which I'm fine with.

Def the earlier Saturday party!
You can do cake IMMEDIATELY after entertainment. This sounds like a fun party!

I would say Saturday would be better. That is a long party though. You might find that some people come late or leave early if it is a 4 hour party. I know when we have done parties the kids (3, 4 and 5) were partied out by the 2 hour mark. You might find people clearing out right after the cake at 230. Could you do the cake with the food before the animals?
