Help! Quick ? about severe diaper rash from diarrhea
My son has had diarrhea several times since I got home. The babysitter also told me he went 5X today. I know the rec'd for treatment (brat diet, pedialyte, acidopholus tablets) but I need something different than Desitin. He has never had such a red bumpy rash/ swelling. HELP!!!

Poor baby
Good Ole fashion vaseline will protect his coolie. Dry his coolie, you can put on another medicated ointment like Triple paste if you want then GLOB on the vaseline.
You have to GLOB it otherwise it gets absorbed into the diaper and doesn't do a thing. Also make sure his coolie is dry otherwise you will trap moisture against his skin.
I swear by vaseline, DD used to get these awful red raw rashes and that was the only thing that let it heal.

Hope the little guy feels better soon
You can put any kind of creme under the vaseline and it will stay on the rash too.
I hope he gets better fast!

We always get the Butt Paste - works wonders!
We stopped using vaseline because it gets on the diaper and then the diaper doesn't absorb anything - very messy.

We use butt paste too, it has the highest concentration of zinc oxide.
Wow-I never had a problem with vaseline and leaky diapers and i've been using it since the beginning :)
I will consider us lucky

I don't know if Butt paste is the same as Triple Paste, but if it is this stuff is fantastic. Many pharmacies only have a few jars, because it is expensive. But if you can find it, but it and put it away.
