HELP! PP hair loss

OMG I am losing so much hair, I just took a shower and there we chunks of hair coming out, after I was done there was enough hair in the drain to make a small wig ! I was fine and all of a sudden about 2 weeks ago it started.
I had this happen with my DD within couple of weeks after having her and it was pretty bad, lasted about a year or so, i started taking biotin and used a shampoo my hair dresser gave me and not sure if it helped or it just stopped, but took about 3 months or so after I started both. Last time I actually got a tiny bold spot in the back of my head, thank god it wasn't too obvious.
this time around it seems even worse, at this rate I won't have any hair left in a month or 2 Chat Icon
Not even sure if I can take biotin (spl). Haven't had time to go get that shampoo again , don't even remember the name. I do still take my prenatal vitamins .
I was thinking maybe cutting it will help a little, need a hair cut anyway. But what else can I do? I can't even go to a dermatologist because I have no time, plus she is in Manhattan and I have no one to watch the kids, I don't drive there.

Do you have any advice?
Thank you

HELP! PP hair loss

No advice - this is completely normal, though. There was a thread about it recently...let me see if I can bump it for you so you know you're not alone ;)

HELP! PP hair loss

Its normal and there is really no way to stop it. You are not going bald. Just going back to how your hair was pre-pregnancy.

Mine has stopped and now I'm working on growing out all the short pieces from it.

I am having this problem too...it got worse 3 months PP actually...even my eyebrows have thinned out so much I have to pencil them!!

I don't recall my hair being super thick during pregnancy so I'm not sure where all the hair is coming from!!

Re: HELP! PP hair loss

As pp said it is totally normal as you know. We are just loosing the hair we would have normally lost, but didn't, during the length of our pregnancies. My hair was EVERYWHERE for months

It is normal but I was told that some of it is because your hair gets so strong and you do not lose much when you are pregnant. So you are really just losing "extra" hair you got when you were pregnant. I don't know if this is really 100% true but I know that when the hair fell out my hair didn't really look thinner than usual.

I am still losing hair and lots of it. My baby is almost 15 months old. I made an appt to get some blood work done and I started taking biotin. I'm losing so much hair. It's definitely thinner.

Oh you lose extra hair. My hair fell out so much with both pregnancies that I had a receding line.
