Help please!

I feel like I am going at this blindly and alone and maybe you girls can fill in the missing pieces for me please?

I went to Dr. B today (but didn't see him) for a sono of my eggs (supposed to start an iui this week, my first one). I took femera Tues-Sat.

So today on one side I had some eggs like 12 and 13 mm. And the other side (the side I normally have O pains) like 17mm. Sandra said he needs to review and she'll see if I should go in again tomorrow or Wednesday. But she said maybe another day or two, my lining was thickening but now quite there yet.

So i called today at 4:30 and was told he would be reviewing soon and get back to me. Well no one did! So I guess I am not going in tomorrow?

Also Sandra asked me "Oh are you doing a natural cycle?" And I said no I thought an actual iui because Dr. B initially suggested it during my consultation.

So she called in my trigger shot but also progesterone suppositories, I was never told about those! What are they? What are they for? Why would he prescribe them for me, is this a typical thing? And are they the things you girls always say make you feel bloated?

Also I have an appointment next week with a doctor about my hypothyroid and I am trying to stay calm. I am scared of thyroid cancer or if something is seriously wrong with me.

Sorry for the long post and questions, I just feel like I learn more here than at the doctor's and feel like I am basically directing this cycle by myself.

okay if you are doing iui the ovidrel is the trigger to make the eggs release. the progesterone is luteal phase support helps with implantation. hope this helps.

OK I am going to try and answer all the questions I can remember.

Dr.B tends to work until 7pm + in the office and often reads results and returns calls way later so he may still get back to you. I had to email him a few times when I wasn't sure if i needed to go in that following day. Chances are, if she didn't call you, you will go on Wednesday. I was at the same exact pt as you last week, just a few more follicles and I went back wed for montioring and then IUI's on thursday and friday. I didn't need the trigger shot because I was showing ovulation on my own based on my bloodwork wednesday. You only use the trigger the day before you are going in for the IUI.
Progesterone really isn't that bad, more of a pain. I took it last month and started again this month and the only side effect was vivid dreams. I actually haven't had any side effects from follitism, progesterone, femara, dex or anything else. I do eat less though when on the progesterone to try and dismiss any weight gain. Just wear a panytliner once you start using the progesterone. I put them in an hour before bed and sleep 8 hours, the following day theres really no mess :)

I am not sure if he decided you should do a regular cycle or IUI but they should tell you all that tomorrow. It is good that you had a great reaction to the femara alone Chat Icon Chat Icon

I cant remember any of your other questions but feel free to FM me Chat Icon

Re: Help please!

Thank you so much, she said there were a lot more folicles, black little dots - but those are just the sizes I remember.

Is the progesterone normal protocol? Am wondering if something in my blood test from today made them call it in.

So is there a chance I don't have to actually do the shot, if on Wed I am showing signs of O-ing?

I hate not knowing what days I am going in, I have all my lies prepared for work this month though, I have been setting the stage all last week!

I tend to do the same thing with work!

As far as I know, progesterone is in his normal protocol although for me I KNOW I need it because both my previous pregnancies showed low progesterone.

If your bloodwork shows a significant LH surge then you might not need to. I always O'ed on my own, that wasn't an issue for me so both months we cycled so far I didn't need it (although I paid $115 for it ) Chat Icon

With my follicles i remember I had 3 on my right side, all 18+ on Wednesday and then I had 1 on my right at 20+ and then a few that hadn't matured passed 14 and she said we were a go, I am sure they are just waiting to see if the others mature.

Your DH will need to drop the sample off 1 hour prior to your IUI's both days and then you will go in within the hour Chat Icon

You wil be exactly a week behind me and a few others girls that just had IUI's last week Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Help please!

My DH has already set the stage at work with his new "chiropractor appointments", and he works with his family so it has to be believable! I figure an "adjustment" doesn't take too long! And my lies are a secret god forbid a worker read this!

I do always O on my own, consistantly confirmed my temping for 9 months. I was under the impression that bc it is a medicated cycle that is just how they do it.

I am still not over the fact DH has to give me a shot. Especially bc every day he asks when he can do it, I feel he is excited about it and not sure it is a good thing!

I found out I have to pay for the shot too. I think she said $150 which insluces the prog which is covered but I guess the co-pay is included.

I hope all of you girls get BFP! I LOVE reading about them here, it gives me such hope.

Re: Help please!

My DH certainly enjoyed giving me the shots during this injectable cycle lol, he was like "the doctor is in the building", I think it makes them feel a little more involved. I asked Dr.B if he was SURE I didn't need the trigger and he said he was positive, my LH was at a 44. It just worked out that I was surging at that very moment, had my bloodwork shown the number a little lower he would have had be trigger anyways, it just worked out this month for me Chat Icon Even if you O on your own, you might not be ready to and your follicles might be ready so he will have you trigger either way.

Now go get those follicles to grow another 2mm and let us know how it goes!

My acupuncturist told me that I cannot give myself the shot, that DH has to do it. Something with the energies and him actually injecting me. I thought that was funny and interesting too if you believe that.

I am going to be super nice to DH this week!
