Help needed-staying awake during the day
I am in my 1st tri and seriously, I have to hand it to each and every one of you ladies who work or take care of another child-I am so tired, it is not funny.
So here is my dilemma-as some of you know, I am taking the Florida Bar exam on July 28 and 29. Studying is not so much of a problem, because I can nap when I start to feel worn out. I am really nervous about getting deliriously tired during the test. Both testing days are from 8am to 4:30 pm and we get an hour lunch at about 12:30. I usually start crashing really badly around 1pm. In my past life, I would have tons of caffeine, but that is not exactly an option at this point. Any advice on how to pull myself through this? Would snacking help during the test? Should I use next week to train myself not to nap during the day?
Also, what kinds of drinks and snacks are good for me to bring into the test? I don't want anything too crunchy because I feel terrible for the test takers sitting around me!
Just thinking about this exam is making me want to sleep!

Re: Help needed-staying awake during the day
When I took the bar exam (not PG), I think I was running on so much adrenaline that I don't think I could even be tired if I wanted to be! I seriously think that you will be so focused on the test that you won't even feel tired.
As for food and drinks, my doctor said a cup of coffee a day is fine, so I would have a caffenated drink at lunch if you are worried.
Also, are you allowed to eat food during the exam? I vaguely remember that you could only bring in 1 water bottle or something ridiculous like that (but I know I did have my lunch in the bag).
Good luck!!!

Thank you so much! They changed a lot of rules with the Bar-I took NY in 2005 and we were allowed to bring one water bottle in, but that was it. We aren't even allowed to bring food or drinks into the exam, including a bagged lunch-I had to apply for a medical accommodation for the exam!
I am hoping on that day my test taking adrenaline takes over! Maybe I am overthinking this one!

I took the 2005 NY bar too - so I guess my memory isn't too off! I don't know why it stuck it out, but I just remember the 1 water bottle rule and I think there also was a limit as to how many ounces it could be!

Yup-I remember that! Did you take the July 05 bar? Because I remember that it was about 100 degrees out and I walked from my apartment to the Javits Center and I was dying!
