Help me get Loey's clothes CLEAN!

UGH. For some reason Loey's clothes are just not getting that clean anymore!

We use All Free & Clear with a scoop of Baby Oxyclean and pretreat right before washing with Resolve Spray.

Here's what happening:

A - the stains just aren't coming out

B - the stain looks like it's gone (the color is removed) but there is still a mark where the stain used to be (looks almost like grease or something)

Any tips for me?

The only thing I can't do is to treat stains right after they happen because Loey is either at daycare or with DH (who could never remember to do that).

I've been noticing an issue with our clothes lately and I think its the detergent. I don't know if they changed the formula but we haven't changed anything at all and things are just starting to dull and not come out well..... We do the same, all free and clear and oxyclean and we have a really nice front loader...nothing seems to be helping...

Oh man! I was hoping there was some secret trick that I didn't know aboutChat Icon

He has been wearing the same clothes for a while now (2T) and since we are in San Diego the weather is really mild so we haven't really had to buy anything new and were hoping to keep it that way.... but with these stains it's getting really hard!

If you can't treat stains right away then I would pre-treat them at least overnight...not just a few minutes before washing.

Also, if it is in fact something greasy you may want to try a bit of Lestoil - it's an oldie but goody.

Re: Help me get Loey's clothes CLEAN!

I am a BIG fan of Arm and Hammer Washing Soda.
It's not easy to find all the time though.
I found it in ShopRite recently.
It's in a yellow box- much like the baking soda but bigger.

What I do is- dissolve it in some warm water and then soak the stained clothes overnight.

The next day, wash as normal.

If the stain remains, repeat the soaking process.

It has really worked wonders for us.

Our resolve spray says to let sit 5 minutes and not let it dry... that's why I haven't been doing overnight treatments.

What is Lestoil? I've never heard of that...

Hmm...I use Shout spray and you can definitely leave it on over night.

It's great for getting out greasy stains, salad dressing, sweat stains, ink, etc. You can use Lestoil as a pre-treatment and/or you can add it directly to the load of laundry.

Maria, it's so funny that you mentioned this. I too noticed this and decided to switch to regular Tide. I'm not sure what happened but I definitely notice a difference.

Thanks ladies! Going to get some of these products this weekend.

Are these all okay for a child with sensitive skin?

I would thik the washing soda trick is since you will be washing it after soaking it...so you'll be getting it all out- plus it's pretty much baking soda so I thnk it's fine!

As long as it is rinsed out it should be fine. Good luck! Let us know what works!

I love oxyclean max force. It is a small blue spray bottle. It works on stains that have even gone in the dryer.

Re: Help me get Loey's clothes CLEAN!

I keep a bottle of Shout spray under the sink in DD's bathroom. Every night when she takes off her clothes before her bath, I check them over for stains and spray the Shout on them before throwing them in the laundry. That way, even if it's a few days before I actually do that load of laundry, the pre-treat is working. (And also I don't have to worry about remembering to pre-treat when I put the laundry in.) Then I wash everything with detergent plus a scoop of OxyClean Free. It's worked really well for us.

I also use Shout but I use the gel with the bristles at the top. I absolutely swear by this stuff

I know a lot of people that swear by the Buncha Farmer's Stain Stick. You would have better luck buying it online vs. finding it in a store

I use the oxyclean gel - it comes in a canister/tube and it works so well!
