Help me find a cheap flight please!
DH and I need to fly into Fort Lauderdale on June 26 and leave on June 28. The earlier we could arrive on the 26th, the better, and the later we could arrive on the 28th the better.
We just need 2 tickets and would prefer either JFK or LGA.
We found some flights this past weekend, but they were upwards of 700 round trip for the both of us (total). I was hoping to spend a lot less than that.
Please help!

check again tomorrow & wednesday -- airlines will lower their fares midweek.
you can also sign up for a farewatcher at kayak.com. they search all the airlines and travel sights and will email you every day with the best published fares available.

$264 per person
6/26 leaves JFK at 8:20am, arrives FLL 11:31am on Delta
6/28 leaves FLL at a number of different time options (morning, mid afternoon, or evening) on Delta or Northwest.
Just entered your dates into Expedia and the above seems like the best option(s). HTH!!!

6/26 leaves JFK at 8:20am, arrives FLL 11:31am on Delta
6/28 leaves FLL at a number of different time options (morning, mid afternoon, or evening) on Delta or Northwest.
Just entered your dates into Expedia and the above seems like the best option(s). HTH!!!
I just got all excited, but the $264 is for one way only

Ok, just checked it again and that is the round trip price per person - for two people I get a total of $528.40.
I even checked the Jetblue flights, but when you go to the end, it tells you the prices have gone up to about $320 per person, so the Delta flights are a better deal!

this is true - i just did the experiment with our own tickets for next month - the weekend was $100 more thant Tuesday and Wednesday and wednesday was the cheapest by $25 or so.

try FARECAST this checks different site and predicts if the fare will drop or increase w/in the next 7 days.
OR SIDESTEP this checks all the major travel sites and gives you the cheapest fares.
HTH
ETA: if you fly Continental from Newark, flights are $500 RT total.
