help me choose siding-
we just bought a split level home and are doing a major gut job, siding and roof included. everyone in our neighborhood has some version of beige siding, which i like, but im also thinking about a blue-beige color with a dark gray/black roof.
im also afraid of getting sick of the color once we choose...
help!
hey, if you have pictures of either, please post them!
now i like the beige siding with black roof, black shutters
what do you guys think

we did taupe with greyish black roof and it looks nice - i would shy away from a brown roof- i think it dates a house
if you can get a few panels of the siding and tack them to the house it is the best way to decide

I would recommend doing a black roof reguardless. If you drive around and look at houses, you can see the aging on any roof thats not black. And pick the color you like, don't worry about the rest of the neighborhood, as long as its not like bright pink or something, it will look fine.

I agree. but they actually last a few years less then any colored roof. I think it has something to do with the sun and it being black

We were told to stay away from a black roof due to it attracting the heat. The contractor said it usually raises your energy costs in the summer. But maybe if you have really good insulation, it'll be ok?

yeah- i was told Dark Brown or Black- no difference, really
im still stuck on black roof, black shutters, 'tuscan clay' siding... hubby despises the black roof. family members told us 'black roof is too harsh' but the roofing company doesnt have anything thats just plain dark gray, either. theyve got flecks of blueish, grayish... aghh
ps- we had to make this decision, like, last week
