Help me choose a phone
I'm getting a new phone for my bday - I have had my phone for almost 3 years now, and never really liked it (a Samsung flip phone.) DH got it for me because I wanted a camera phone at the time, but other than that, wasnt too crazy about it....
I always liked flip phones because I hate when the buttons press or when I call someone accidentally, but I'm willing to make a change for the right phone.
I know this phone will be with me for years, so this is really a huge commitment. I'm not one of those "gadget of the week" type of people, but I really rely on my phone for a lot. I am tempted by the new features phones have these days (email, internet, bluetooth)
We have at&t/cingular. I don't want an i-phone, but wouldn't mind a phone with a lot of stuff in it...
I feel like I'm really gravitating towards the Blackberry Pearl since I'm out in the field so much.... what are your thoughts?

Oh yeah - I saw this one - it looks a little clunky though.... I liked the Pearl because it seemed a bit smaller.... Is it clunky?

there are so many icons on the screen lol. Once you know where things are and how to type on it it's a piece of cake.

OK, I think I'm making this decsion - I never liked the regular Blackberry, but the Pearl looks so sleek and feminine... should I go for red or black? I'm thinking since I'll have it for a long time, I may get sick of red? Just stick with basics?

Not clunky at all. It's actually pretty small and super thin. :)
I love that it has a camera and video and that I can listen to music on it as well as IM and check my email. It's a great phone all around.
ETA that both phones are almost the same size. I switched from the Treo to the Pearl and I got frustrated with the keyboard, so I switched to the BJ.
Either one you choose, you will not be disappointed!

I have the red one. I also got a silicone skin to go over it so it doesn't get scratched.

I would definitely get black. The idea of a phone with a pretty color is fun at first....but most likely you're gonna get sick of it.
I had the pink razor for about 9 months and in the end, I couldn't stand the fact that it was pink.
Now, I have the blackberry that you dont like. But I can tell you that im very happy with the phone so going with a blackberry is a good choice.
