Help! I think I might need a new computer....

I have a windows XP since 2002. I am so confused, my antivirus said it was expired and I tried to install new antivirus and my computer is not compatable with a windows xp service pak 2. I am so confused.... does this mean my antivirus is not going to work anymore? I am scanning it now and it seems to be working- I think... Help! I also have no idea what to buy, a new tower, or the whole shebang?(Tower, keyboard,monitor, etc.) I will NOT get a Dell, I have had a very bad experince with them 2 yrs ago. HELP! Or do I not need a new computer becuase the antivirus is scanning?????????????

what company are you using for antivirus...

sometimes, you need to unistall and old product before you install a new product...

i find it hard to believe antivirus program is not compaitable with windows xp...

Trend micro antivirus, I did uninstall it, and it did not have the service pak 2, I tried to download it and my computer would not take it. Now i am installing the odl one again- is that okay, will it still protect me ????
