I used Grand Canyon Tour Company...they were great! DH and I took the bus there and we, along with a small group on the bus, rented bikes through the tour company and took a guided bike ride once there. We saw so much more than those on the bus who opted to not take the bike tour.
The ride to and from the Canyon is long, but we also stopped at the Hoover Dam for a bit (and stopped for lunch/rest stops along the way)
The bus was comfy, the driver was hilarious and they showed movies along the drive.

Help! Grand Canyon Bus Tour?
I did one through papillon years ago. We did the bus from our hotel, stopped at hoover dam, saw the west rim, took a helicopter down to the bottom, and did a short boat ride on the colorado river. It was definitely a cool experience but the west rim is not the most impressive side to see and the bottom of the canyon in July is stifling. The helicopter ride was definitely worth it though! They have the skywalk there now but we went before that was built.
