Help! DS Baptism Favors

So, I don't know if it's because we had put the Christening off waiting for grandma to come home, and then scheduled it when we had her discharge date, and then her subsequent passing 5 days later, but DH and I have been horrible with procrastinating everything. His Baptism is this Sunday and we still haven't figured out favors! We called one chocolate place (really an ice cream place that does chocolates) and it was too late for them to do the chocolate cross pops. We were thinking of getting just regular chocolates and wrapping them in nice bags from Michael's or as a friend suggested small mason jars from Michael's with a ribbon... I just don't know anymore! I wish we were more excited about this, but I just can't get excited about this, we planned everything thinking it would need to be wheelchair accessible for grandma, we even chose the church based on the proximity to her home, so we could get her there... I'm sure I'll be excited the day of, but it's hard. Do either of those ideas sound OK for favors? It's a relatively small event, no more than 35-40 people. Other suggestions are welcome and appreciated!

Those both sound fine. You could also make chocolate cross pops they are very easy.

Ok, thanks! I'm usually so much more prepared than I am for this. I also saw some things on pintrest... I'm going to see who I can enlist to help me if I'm going to do something DIY on Saturday.

Re: Help! DS Baptism Favors

I ordered something similar to these mini glass apothecary jars, the labels were included and I just filled them with Hershey kisses. The prices were very reasonable.

They are located in Syosset and I was able to pick them up at their warehouse instead of waiting for them to be shipped to me. They might have something similar is stock.

Those who made the chocolate cross lollipops themselves, how did you do it?

You get the mold and chocolate. Melt the chocolate either in the microwave or double boiler being careful not to burn and pour into the mold. Let cool and then pop out! So easy.

Yeah, making chocolate lollipops is super easy. If you are close to Farmingdale (which I think you are) there is the Chocolate Duck on Main Street -- you can buy everything there you need to make them -- chocolate (in a variety of colors), molds, sticks, plastic to go over them, etc.

We just had DS last weekend. We did the hershey bars covered with personalized paper labels. I put them in an album, can't post the pic from my phone. I had them made local, so they were done quick and didn't have to wait for shipping.

I'm sorry to hear everything you've gone through. I think that make-yourself crosses are great, but also your suggestion of chocolate miniatures in a cute holder works fine too! Love Hershey's miniatures and those little jars or pails or whatever are always handy to organize pens or cotton balls or other random stuff around the house.

I'd make personalized Hershey wrappers. You can do it yourself in MS Word using clipart and text boxes. I do it all the time, so easy. I'm not even doing favors for his baptism, I'm such a bad mama lolol.

Help! DS Baptism Favors

I found an idea on pintrest, chocolate covered oreo's. So I am doing that in a nice wrapper with a nice ribbon. My SIL (DS's Godmother) is coming over on Friday to help. Should work out well, so long as I don't spazz out the whole time, lol. When I suggested it to DH, he nearly jumped out of his seat excited at the idea. Thanks for all the suggestions! Very helpful!

I did the crosses and Oreos for my sons and they were a hit. The chocolate duck in Farmingdale had Oreo molds with crosses.

We had DS baptism a few weeks ago and I also forgot about favors till the last minute. Was going to do the Oreos but then I saw pretzel bags at michaels so we did chocolate dipped pretzel sticks B/c it was way easier lol. I bought little favor tags, tied them with twine and wrote thank you in one side and his name on the other with a silver marker. They were a huge hit

We were going to do chocolate covered pretzels, but in the end we ended up going with white and blue pops from party city. I put a ribbon and thank you tag with his name and the date. Everyone loved them...even the adults were eating them.
