Help! Chase HATES his car seat!
And I don't know what to do. I cannot even believe the extent to which this baby hates it. He screams from the moment I put him in till the moment I take him out. He actually cries so hard that his voice gets hoarse Please tell me there's hope for him bc I'm always on the go and I can't take him anywhere like this

both of my boys hated their infant seats. Jack screamed so much that I had to put him in a convertible seat at 2 months old.
Tyler got over it after some time.
Do you havea mirror with lights/music. That was the only thing that worked with Tyler

I'm sorry. Both of mine were the same way and it's so much harder the second time around because you've got your older one to deal with.

My son hated his infant seat too. He is much better in the car since we switched him to to the convertible seat. It was so stressful to drive anywhere with him. Sometimes tuning the radio to static and turning it up pretty loud helped calm him (and it drowned out the crying too!)

Thanks for the suggestions. Ugg. It's just so hard to hear him cry like that. It's as if someone ripped my heart out and poked it with searing hot daggers. That is how much it kills me to hear him cry like that. Then, add to it that my 4 year old is losing her patience (understandably) with his screaming and then SHE loses it and it's a freaking screaming fest from the back seat I lead a pretty active life and I don't want to be hindered by a screaming child who hates his car seat. I'm all for doing what he needs, but I have a life to live and with my husband working so much and overnights, I have no choice but to drag the kids everywhere we need to go. I literally ran into the store for 5 minutes on Friday and he screamed bloody murder the whole, entire time. So, I learned my lesson, I stick him in the sling now because I tried that when I went to the next store and I was in there for 45 minutes without so much as a peep from him. But omg, I just can't take it.

DS was never a fan of the car seat. It eventually got better around 8 weeks when as long as we were moving he'd be quiet.
Then at around 3 months he was over it and would hang in the car seat for hours and hours if I let him.

DS is a perfect baby, never cries, ever! UNTIL we put him in the car seat, omg I just want to cry with him, its horrible!
Here's my trick, TV  I strap him in and let him watch for a few min, instantly calms him down and puts him into zombie daze, I then quickly swiftly pick up the carseat, swing it, jiggle it, all the way to the car, then as fas as we can pull out and start driving 60 mph. 
This has been working since we discovered he really likes the TV, around 1 month. When we are not within TV range, I'll pull out my smart phone and put on some youtube videos. Anything works really, but he loves beat box

DD was the same way... HATED the infant seat... it got a little better after awhile and we just switched to the convertible a little early.. lots of hugs though, I can't tell you how many rides I had with the radio blasting... Two things that helped a little were the New Age radio station on my sirius... or me singing at the top of my lungs to her (weird but it usually got her to stop screaming)

Do you still have the infant insert in the seat? If so, try taking it out. You are supposed to take it out by 12 lbs or so. DS used to hate his seat too, until we took that out-it was crowding him.
