help! booster for traveling??
We are flying to FL next month. DS is just 6 years old and weighs 40 pounds. He uses a 5 point harnessed booster in our car, but we aren't planning to bring this with us for our trip.
what can we use for him in the rental car in FL? DH wants to ge tthe Bumblebum or something....... it is an inflatable booster that uses the car's seatbelt. It is for traveling, carpools, etc. Gets good reviews and does SEEM safe.... but I worry!!!! We won't be driving a ton, but will be driving a couple of hours one night of our trip.
WWYD?
TIA!

I would just buy a backless booster. They are like $15. I bring ours everytime we travel. Never had an issue. Fits right into the overhead bin on the plane.

If he's never ridden in booster before, I would buy a cheap one now and practice a few times. He needs to know to sit properly, not but the belt behind his back, not lean forward or sideways wtc. This will be a lot easier to teach him now and not on vacation when he's tired or excited.

Bubblebum is actually a really good booster and product, one you can keep in his backpack even. It is safe to use. It is inflatable so it is quite compact. You could also get the Harmony backless at Walmart for less than 15, which is small and lightweight as well.
I second what jax1023 stated: Buy the booster now and practice on some short drives to assimilate him to properly riding in a booster. He should be able to sit in position for the trip, not move the belt around, not lean out of it, undo it etc.
