Help! 39w4d and I think I have a Yeast Infection
Ever since my internal on Friday afternoon I've been having some burning and itching down there. On Friday I was sure it was just from the internal but now I am not so sure. I have itching and some discharge but mostly the itching is high and not inside and the discharge I find is on the outside but I am not leaking anything. It's so weird.
My OB is closed till Monday but I am concerned about going into labor while having this infection. Should I wait to see if they can fit me in on Monday or just start taking the Monistat now? They have an emergency number but I don't know if I should really call them for this.
Could having a yeast infection harm the baby in any way if I go into labor?

I may be wrong on this but if you have an active yeast infection, your OB, may chose to offer you a c-section. Yeast infections in delivery can cause oral thrush.

I think that a yeast infection this late in the game is considered an emergency, I would call the number.

Thanks ladies. I am going to be calling because I believe I just lost some of my mucus plug. It looks very similar to EWCM w. a tinge of pink in it. So I think its my MP. I am not to sure. Ever since then I've noticed an increase in menstrual cramps. I been throwing up all morning also.
I "think" this may be it. Fingers crossed!!!

The YI can definitely transfer to the baby during a vaginal birth. I actually know someone that this happened to.
I would definitely give the emergency number a call.
