Help - Active Release Treatment
Anyone ever have this done and did it help? Specifically I am wondering about for IT Band.
It seems only Chiropractors perform this and I cannot find any in my area that take insurance. Sooooooo my next question is...do Chiropractors take insurance usually???

Oh ok does she go for IT band or something else? I guess I better keep looking, the 4 doctors I found online don't take aenta or are considered out of network, boooooooooo!

I don't know exactly what problem you're having, but have you tried using a foam roller or "the stick?" They're both really helpful, especially for the IT band.

I'm not sure. Since you have Aetna they should have on their member website those that are in network, right?
If I remember, you work near Bryant Park? Her chiro is 50 something and Park so not too far. She goes during lunch sometimes or after work.

I do A.R.T. and have a chiro in Massapequa. I think he once told me he takes almost all insurance. I don't know if that is too far for you though. He is excellent and has treated many of my running aches and pains.

Re: Help - Active Release Treatment
ART is great for IT band issues! I have had it done for hip and achilles issues.
It's a hit or miss if a chiro accepts insurance. If they don't shouldn't you be able to submit the receipt for a percentage back (mine is like 70%)?
Also many chiros will work with you and lower their rates if they don't accept insurance. You wouldn't think, but negotiate with them...they want your business.
Good luck and feel better.

Dr Gary Olson
I use him and he takes my insurance (I have United Healthcare).
If you click on the insurance page, he does take Aetna. (and he's really nice too!)
