Heading to Spain soon
Do I need any special adapters for my flat iron? I remember reading something about an adapter for a blow dryer, but I'm not bringing one of those.
Also, what's the best way to pay for things? Credit Card or should we take cash and exchange it for Euro's? Travelers checks?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

We bought one of those multi converters, that fits into a lot of different kinds of outlets. You will most likely need to get one in order to use your flat iron. It's the outlets that are different there.
We mostly use ATMs and/or credit cards, this way we never have to exchange anywhere. And I believe you get the best exchange rate that way too. Have fun!!

You will need a converter and adapter while in Spain. The adapter is just a plug to fit into the outlets there (they are a different shape). The converter converts the voltage to 220.
Just a word of caution - I wouldn't bring a good flat iron with me. I've had expensive hairdryers burn out on me even with the converter while in Europe. I think it's worth it to buy a cheapie over there.
Oh I usually exchange a very small amount of $$ here at the airport or at my bank before I go (maybe $100) and ask for small denominations. This way you have money for tips. The bulk of our spending money is usually obtained via ATM once we arrive or we charge any purchases.
Have fun!!

Definitely use an ATM while there. You'll get a much better rate from your bank then from those cash exchange places.
Have an amazing trip!

My hotel had an adaptor I was able to use while in Barcelona a few months ago.
I 2nd using the ATM-go with a small amount of cash (100 Euros) to get you from the airport to your hotel; and at least the first days food; then find an ATM for the rest of the cash-it will give you a better conversion. OR use a card that doesn't charge a conversion fee.

Figures! I was there twice already today, you think I would've asked them about this.
ETA: Do I also need one for the cell phones?

You only need one converter, but you can only plug one thing in at a time. So we took turns charging our phones, which was fine since we never really used them.

We charge our cell phones using the usb cord plugged into a computer tower, but we stay with my parents. I am sure a hotel would have computers to use too.

you definately need a converter. you can get them at most drugstores as well. as for cash, convert a small amount to get by on once you first arrive. Once your there you will probably get a better exchange rate. We didn't use our credit cards at all, just cash, because with every single purchase, you get charged a conversion fee. But double check with your credit card company to see how much they charge.
