HCG LEVELS
Ok, I should be about 8 weeks pregnant according to my LMP, had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat and baby measured perfect, but have had some spotting (which stopped) so to be sure everyhting was good my doctor took my HCG and progesterone levels. Prog. level was good and she said so was the initial HCG, it was around 6300. 2 days later I got my blood drawn again and just found out the levels only went up to 8500. My doctor is off and the person I spoke to said going up is good, but I thought they were supposed to double. How worried should I be that they aren't doubling? I have another US on Monday, hopefully everything is good. I'm freaking out.

when your levels are above 6,000 - doubling time is more like 96 hours - not 48 hours
try not to worry

at 8 weeks after seeing a HB a blood draw is useless.
