HcG injection - tips?
Dh is doing it tonight - what can I do to make it easier? Ice it? Or should I use a hot compress?

Is it IM? Were your other shots IM or subQ (in the belly)?
If it's IM- I always ice beforehand (but I do that w/ all my shots anyway). MOST importantly is that he should push the skin apart w/ his thumb and index finger, and 'dart' it in. I PROMISE you it's not as bad as you're thinking.   Good luck Beth!!!
ETA: I've only heard of people using warm/hot compresses for the PIO shots b/c the liquid is so thick. I use ice before that also... then heat afterwards.

All my shots so far have been subQ - this is the first, and hopefully, last IM. Ok, I'll ice it for a while before - thanks!

My HcG shots have all been subq. (Novarel and Ovidrel) I usually ice beforehand and pinch the skin really hard, so the pinch hurts, not the needle.
Good luck. I agree with PP, it isn't as bad as it sounds.
