having trouble breathing
i am only 21 weeks (22 tomorrow i believe) and I am having SO much trouble breathing tonight. I feel tight in my stomach and my chest kind of hurts lungs wise and my nose is all stuffy... just wondering if this was normal and/or what I should do about it. I know they said it gets hard to breathe, but everything I read says in the third trimester. What is happening?

Re: having trouble breathing
I have been having a hard time breathing for a while. I dont think it started as early as you but maybe like 24 weeks. It has been a lot worse these past two weeks and I know a huge part of it has to do with my allergies. Because we have had no rain allergies are worse for a lot of people right now b/c there is soo much pollen out there. I wouldn't worry but definitely bring it up to your doctor. It's best to be safe and it will also give you peace of mind. I know I felt much better after I talked to my doctor about it. Feel better!

Re: having trouble breathing
I am 25 weeks and have been like this for a couple of weeks myself ~ I spoke to my OB and she said completely normal. Plus I have allergies along with everything else to compound it and she finally convinced me to stop suffering and take something to help myself. I would run it by your obgyn ~ I hope you feel better!

Re: having trouble breathing
I had the same problem last night but I'm only 14 weeks. It feels like I can't take a deep breath. I'm pretty sure it's allergy related.

Re: having trouble breathing
I had the same problem when I was about 13 weeks and it happened when I was in St. Lucia for our babymoon! The humidity was crazy which made it so much worse. Every time we walked 5 steps I had to sit. I felt like I wasn't getting any air in at all. When I came back I went to the dr who said i was wheezing and sent me to a pulminologist who diagnosed me with pregnancy induced asthma. He said when you have asthma it is difficult to get air in - when its just normal pregnancy difficulties, you get our of breath a lot more frequently.
