Having Placenta Previa...Q

If you had placenta previa, did your OB restrict you from lifting, etc. My ob/gyn seems so nonchalant about it. She just told us no sex; but never mentioned lifting or taking it easy; now when I talk to friends/others they tell me I shouldn't be straining or lifting heavy stuff, etc. Should I be extra cautious? Thx.

Also if you had it, were you put on bedrest? Thx.

I had full placenta previa....At around 16 weeks I was standing in my kitchen and started to bleed- Went to ER, baby was ok thankfully....I was put on a "modified bed-rest"- absolutely NO lifting anything heavier than a gallon of milk, no $ex at all, or anything in the
va-jay-jay, limited walking etc....I bled ever since ( today included at 37w5d) red...My previa is now considered barely low lying ( OB was pretty suprised it moved as much as it did)...Had I had anymore "heavy' bleeding, I would have been put on bed-rest and possibly hospitalized, and there was talk of taking the baby early...I am very suprised your OB is so lenient about it, maybe you have a very mild case???...Please take it easy and no lifting ! ( which to me was the hardest part with my DS
) Previa can be dangerous if your not careful
( not trying to scare you , but its nervewracking !)

I had it with my 1st and was put on pelvic rest from one Dr and the other Dr in the practice told me to just take it easy...

I went with the pelvic rest...
No lifting, no sex...
