having children or being pg ...
is not a handicap !!!! i have a friend who can't believe that i didn't stop going to school when i became pg. This same friend can't believe that next year (God willing) when my child is one I want to go back to school for my PhD. All she can say is "that's going to be hard to manage" or "i don't know anyone who does that" Don't get me wrong i am not super women, but I am not one to let my pg stop me from accomplishing my dreams. sorry had to vent.

It's a shame when friends aren't supportive or give negative comments like that More power to you for pursing your dream either pregnant or with kids

Re: having children or being pg ...
After hearing alot of stories lately, I have actually decided that I AM a strong person. Some women are either just lazy or just can't handle anything. I have 2 kids, worked until the end with both, went back to work after 3 months, take care of a house and a dh and dog. I manage it all!!!

Re: having children or being pg ...
Its sad when friends can't be supportive. My so called best friend of 10 years stopped talking to me after she joined the Army because she felt that I couldn't go out and have fun anymore because I had a child. She just dismissed me and my life because I was a mom.
It hurt because we've been friends since the 6th grade and I've supported her on everything even joining the Army, which is a big decision.
More power to you for continuing to better your self. A proving that parenting isn't some kind of jail term, its a beautiful part of life.

People can "handle" different amounts in life.
Im not superwoman either and I just got my masters in three years, while being home and working part time, and having my 3 kids, back to back. Im also thinking of my PhD too. Good for you! follow your dreams girl !
Ive had many people say "How do you do it?". I just think of it that there's always someone with MORE to do than me, that has it harder than me. I never thought I was climbing any mountains or doing anything so super. I accomplished what I was pursuing in the timeframe and within the circumstances I had.
Christopher REeve once said "the more I do, the more I CAN do"
Those are my rules to live by.
Go for it ! You'll be my inspiration!
