Have you registered for or bought any big baby items online? UPDATED

Without being able to see it in person? For example: a swing, pack n play, car seat or high chair? The Fisher Price Healthy Care high chair got excellent reviews in the baby bargain book, but I haven't been able to actually see it in person in a store. I'm skeptical about not seeing something in person. Also there is a car seat that my daughter likes at BRU but it's ONLINE ONLY.

UPDATE: If you register for things only available online, will people buy them for your shower? or would they rather go to a store and buy something?

Well the high chairs are at BRU. For the carseat, is it just that the pattern is only available online, if so you can probably see another one with a different pattern at the store.

Almost everything! I liked the fact that online I could see user reviews.
The few things I registered for in the store ended up getting horrible reviews when I checked online.
So I switched them.
I am a very ONLINE kind of gal- HATE stores.
I don't need to touch things either.

IMO if you know what you want and reseached it, there is no reason to not just order it on-line.

I am a big on-line shopper, only reason I went to the store for the big ticket items was because I had no idea where to begin and wanted to see that stuff in person and try things out for myself.

Most stores do not even carry everything, I know the highchair I picked was not in the store, but I read reviews and picked it anyway.

I pretty much went through the same thing. Ended up doing the in-store shopping and then reading reviews and switching to online stuff anyway.

P.S- My shower is next weekend and I have gotten 95% of my "online only" registry items. I wouldn't worry about not getting things b.c they are online and not in the store.

I registered for my pack and play, car seat, high chair and stroller on the internet without seeing the print in person. It's the graco "mickey mouse in the house" line and DH and I loved the photos on the internet. We knew Graco was a brand that could be trusted so we weren't worried about that.

And the pattern is perfect. My girlfriends sent the pack and play and the car seat to the house already so I can take less home from my shower (I live in CT, shower is in NY).

For other things I registered for over the internet I used a lot of reviews. I have noticed that mom's have a lot of opinions about things and they let themselves be heard if there is something they really don't like! Chat Icon

I started my registry before I went looking because I just wanted to get an idea of what I needed/wanted and what was out there. After I found out it was a girl I went to the stores to 'test' things...and there were a few things I wasn't able to play with in the stores but I just went ahead and registered for it anyway if it had good reviews.
