Re: Have a Vacation Planned,but I have a question!
When i interviewed for my dream job it was right when I had a trip planned. I would be upfront during my interview IF u think the time frame is going to start around the same time..
say something like--when ru looking for someone to start?--i m extremely interested in this position but i want to be upfront that i have such and such already booked--non refundable and i hope that we can work something out around that if need be...
my boss loved my honesty about it and when i was hired i started right after my trip..
goodluck!!--if its ment to be it works out

I would be honest and tell them about your vacation. I seriously doubt that would be an issue. if they really want you, it won't be a problem. just don't expect them to pay you for the time you have off

Re: Have a Vacation Planned,but I have a question!
I had the same problem when I was interviewing for my first job out of law school - I was going to start work in September, and was going on my honeymoon in October.
I wouldn't volunteer the information until you are at the negotiation phase - meaning, it's not necessary at all to bring it up until you have an offer. At that point, you inform them that you have a scheduled vacation in May, and see how they want to work around it.
I was nervous about my new job because I had a trip scheduled for Israel right after my second interview. I never said anything, and it turns out, I didn't have to, because the offer didn't come in until I got back from my trip, so who knows, it may work out that they don't need you to start until after you come back anyway.
Good luck!

I agree. If they're deciding between you and another candidate it may deter them from picking you. Only tell them once an offer has been made.

I completely agree. No need to say anything until they offer you the job and then tell them immediately. I've had a vacation planned everytime I've accepted a job and it was never once a problem.
