Has anyone used Stanley Steamer?
I'd like to get 2 area rugs, 1 couch, 1 oversized chair and ottomon steam cleaned. I got a quote from Stanley Steamer and almost FELL OVER!!! For the furniture alone, they want $300.. is this normal?!
In the past, we've just rented a steamer from HD and did it ourselves, but we thought we'd get a professional in this time.
Please feel free to recommend who you've used in the past!
TIA!!

Re: Has anyone used Stanley Steamer?
Honestly for that price, Costco has Bissel carpet and upholstery steamers for less than that. Not sure you want to own one, I bought one about 3 or 4 years ago and can't imagine life without it... it clearly paid for itself along time ago if that's what the pros are getting, think I paid around $200. It comes with a variety of cleaners depending on scents you like and your cleaning needs. I have 4 cats and 2 kids, it's gotten every stain out. Only one time did we have to re-clean a few times when my DD got sick on it, but it was more b/c of the thick stitching pattern in the burbur rug, everything came out of our glider and ottoman easily. I love the pet and allergen cleaner and the lavendar scent cleaner. It also has a pre-cleaner that you spray on stains... again never had a problem and I've gotten refills at Home Depot or directly from Bissel. Granted, not sure if you want to own one, but if you've rented them it sounds like it's something you've done pretty regularly and may be worth it. It takes up really no more room than a vacuum cleaner. It does hard flooring too from what I remember. I have the Proheat, 12 amp... they may have even better one's now. My other recommendation if you really want it professionally done is to look in local ads and see if anyone is offering any sales/discounts.

YIKES!! I guess I'm totally naive!
I've heard siuch amazing things about them, so I thought it would be a no brainer. $500 is a lot more than I wanted to spend, though! I'm bummed now!
Oh good call... I'll check them out! Thanks!!
