Has anyone used labcorp in patchogue for dc?
Or can you recommend another location not too far?
I just came back from our second appt in medford with no luck. The woman basically told me to try port jeff because she didn't want to try again. I usually go to patchogue and it's always been quick and painless for myself but I guess getting blood from a 12 month old is not as easy.

Has anyone used labcorp in patchogue for dc?
We just had DS's 12m bloodwork done at Quest in Smithtown. They were amazing! In and out really fast, I was surprised. GL!

Oh sorry, didn't realize you could only use labcorp. When I made the appointment for DS I told them it was for a 1 year old. I don't know if it would make a difference but maybe you can call the patchogue location and see if there's someone there used to working with young children?

I use lab corp in Commack for my kids.
I do have to bring DD back. They found her vein, however, the blood stopped mid flow. (she has very tiny veins).
The techs were great with her. They tried 2x. Very patient.
When I make the appointment (online) I specify it's pediatric.

Thanks. The woman was very good with DD and actually got the vein the first try but DD bent her arm halfway through and we had to start over. The second try and again today she wasn't able to get more than a drop out. I think she just isn't very confident with a little one which is why she was trying to convince me to go elsewhere. I wish I'd realized that last time and tried a different location today. I just want to make sure wherever I go next is going to get the job done!

I used to use Labcorp - I used the one on Sunrise in Sayville maybe? I think its considered Sayville. She was good there but I was always going for myself.
For whatever reason - for DD and DS I used the lab at Good Sam Hospital and the woman was AMAZING. I will never go anywhere else and it is completely worth the 20 min drive. Both my kids had to have bloodwork a few times and there is a particual woman that has usually done it. She made a joke that they always make her do the babies. She always got the vein in the first try. My son didn't even cry during the 12 m one.

Thanks. I used sayville once and they messed up the paperwork so I haven't gone back there. I was thinking of heading to stonybrook hospital bc I heard they have someone there that's great but I forget his name. Maybe I'll try Good Sam instead if Patchogue doesn't work out. I really hope the third time is the charm here!

Yes, we went to Good Sam and they were great! The lab has their own parking and entrance which was so convenient and there was no wait at all. They brought in three people to make sure they had a good plan before they started. I held her in my lap and they took care of holding her arm still which was such a relief. She cried as soon as they put the tournequit on but they were really quick. She happily accepted her elmo sticker and we were on our way in 10 minutes.
Not to knock labcorp (I've always liked the people at Patchogue for myself), but there are lots of times I've gone that there's only one person working and I just don't think that's enough for a toddler. All I can say is I would NOT go to the medford one!
