Has anyone tried this thingy??
My mom and I saw it at BRU yesterday. I read the reviews on the website and they are mixed. I wonder if it is worth it.

I have one like it but not the same brand. It works well, I was able to hear the HB at 11 1/2 weeks. I haven't used it in a few weeks but it's nice to check in there once in awhile and hear the baby's heart thumping away.

A friend let me borrow his...so far I haven't heard anything (I'm 34wks). He mentioned that him & his wife couldn't hear anything until later in the pregnancy.

I heard it's not that great and my friends recommended that I rent a fetal doppler which I did. It works wonderful and I hear the HB all the time. I got mine from BabyBeat.com and it was $150 for 6 months.

It doesn't work. It's not a doppler. It's simply a microphone with recording abilities. It amplifies every sound going on in your belly EXCEPT the baby's heartbeat. You are able to hear thumps and kicks but unless you can feel it too, it's hard to distinguish from your actual digestion sounds..
I would recommend renting a doppler if you want to hear baby's heartbeat.
