has anyone pleaded not guilty to a speeding ticket

I got a speeding ticket in the Village of RVC and am going to court tomorrow to fight it.
I was just wondering if anyone can tell me the process. I get very anxious not knowing what to expect.

Thanks.

I was, but not going as fast as they claim I was. I am trying to get the fine/points reduced.

Did they register it with the radar detector?

I've done it.

Plead it down to an unsafe lane change.

Reduced fine and points. This was in Old Westbury.

VJ- Usually you go into a cattle call. You wait. And wait. Eventually you speak to the DA. When you explain they will make you an offer. My guess is you can ask for a plea that does not include points. But its all about what the DA wants to do.

It's nassau county, they'll likely drop it down. Paramount explained it pretty much to a T.

Is it Nassau county (in Hempstead), or local RVC police. In Hempstead, like Paramount explained, they eventually call you up, ask for your documents (license) and in my experience, just automatically reduce your ticket to a lower offinse - ask if you will accept __(a lower offense)____ as your "conviction" and then you go speak to the Judge who is sitting in a little office, who puts it on the record. Almost always worth pleading guilty and having them reduce it

10 years ago. I pled NG to get a date, went to court with my dad who is an attorney and they knocked it down to a lesser charge with less points but I still had to pay the fine. I was more concerned about the points so that was fine with me.

I think if you plead guilty, you get whatever the fine and points for the offense on the ticket.

Yep.

I ended up paying for an expensive parking ticket.
