I'm in love with madeleines but they are so expensive!

I bought some yesterday to have with tea and there were 8 cookies for $4.99!

Has anyone made them before? All of the recipes I'm finding look really difficult!

I have and love them!

Either use a non stick pan or else really coat the wells with butter. I got my pan at Williams Sonoma.

I searched on line for a recipe and it seemed hard, but wasn't bad at all and they turned out well.

Do you have the recipe still?

I saw the pan at WS and definitely want to get it... I saw a recipe on epicurious that looks okay, but I'm not sure!

My mother is French (born and raised), even she has difficulty making Madeleines and she is an insane baker. She can only make them on certain days depending on the humidity. I'll get her recipe if you want, she makes them plain and orange flavored.

I would love her recipe!

I'm in San Diego so hopefully I won't have a humidity issue!
