I can't be the only one, right?
My husband thinks it will dry & out & be fine, but I think it's time for a new one.

I have straight fine hair, so I don't need an Elchim or anything, I can get a $30 Con-Air at the drugstore. (Which is what this one was.)

I was going to use my travel dryer this morning, but I went into work early & didn't have time to dry my hair. The heat in my apartment dried it most of the way anyway.

I do want to blow dry it for Thanksgiving though.

So. .would you try & resurrect it or get a new one?

i would be afraid that the water would cause damage i couldn't see right away - so if you can afford it, i would get a new one

this one got great reviews - i own it and love it and it's about $20

Thanks! I saw that least from Consumer reports that SweetesofPeas posted too. It's kind of an emergency, so I am going to see which of the ones on the list I can find locally.

I can afford a new one ( under $50), I think my DH just thought hairdryers were really expensive. He hates to throw things out--we try to not be wasteful & we fix what we can, but I am so afraid of electric shocks (Not to mention. .ew. . .toilet water!)

I'm afraid of doing that! I always close the lid before I take the hair dryer out.

I would not use it.

Chat Icon That's never happened to me, but I did drop my favorite brush in the toilet!!!! Chat Icon I LOVE that brush, so I boiled it in a pot to kill any germs (though the toilet had of course been flushed!) and still use the brush!

Hmm I think I might just buy a new one though, thinking that it might have damaged something. Even if you get a new one, and then try it in a week and see that it dried out, it can always be a spare. I think I got my current one for about $20 at Target or CVS.

I recently did this. DH got piissed bc he is always telling me to close the lid when I use the dryer. I was too scared to turn it on. I just bought a new one.
