Has anyone done ICSI? UPDATE

I am meeting with my RE today Dr. Cain about IVF and ICSI.

I am so nervous and know I have many questions but I wanted to know if anyone has done this or is thinking of doing this.

What should I be asking?

****UPDATE****
We have decided to put off the IVF for now. My DH went to his Endocronologist yesterday and he also specializes in male infertility. He said he can fix this. He thinks it has a lot to do with his thyroid condition and did many other tests. We are going to keep trying naturally for now and if in three months nothing happens then we can go back to the RE.

My appointment yesterday did not go so well. I would have to do some consults before we can do the IVF and the times they offer them are awful. I work in Manhattan and they only offer them Mon, Tues, Thurs 1:00pm or 1:30pm or Fridays at 11:00am and that is it. They were kinda of rude to me so I figured I would just wait it out a little and then possibly even change my Dr.

Re: Has anyone done ICSI?

Yes, we have and got PG on our first ivf try with our DD. It just "assists" the IVF procedure when you have male factor infertility which we did. Its just a process where once the eggs are retrieved, an embryologist will place the eggs in a special culture, and using a microscope and tiny needle, a single sperm will be injected into an egg. This will be done for each egg retrieved.

Re: Has anyone done ICSI?

Yes. Most RE's do it because it ups the chances.

Nothing to be nervous about.

Re: Has anyone done ICSI? UPDATE

I read your update - if you are not happy with your doctor PLEASE change. IVF is too much - emotionally, financially, etc - to put up with service you are not happy with. I was not happy with my original RE and switched and he was much more aggressive in the treatment - and now I have my DS..
