Has anyone been to a messy art class?
I was considering enrolling DS for the spring semester. He'll be 13 months. Not sure if he is too young.
How old was your DC when s/he did messy art? Did s/he like it?
Am I better off just buying some finger paint and doing it at my parents' backyard?

Re: Has anyone been to a messy art class?
DS is 14 months, we do finger paints at home. I just tape a piece of paper to his high chair tray and give him a dollop of colored vanilla pudding. He is only just starting to play on the paper and loses interest after about 5 minutes. I won't do brushes yet because I know they will end up in is mouth.
For him I think it would be a little early to enroll him in a class, but your DC may have a longer attention spam

Pudding on paper sounds like a perfect first introduction. Thank you for the idea. I'll pick some up this weekend when I hit the grocery store.
You just gave me the idea to pick up jello as well. I think DS would like to play with that too.
The messy art class would have been like $40-50 per class. This will be so much cheaper!

No problem, you can go to this thread scroll down a bit and someone posted three recipes for edible finger paints - one of them is jello!
Have fun!

Thank you sooooooooooooooooo much for linking me to that thread. I have been wanting ideas for DS's first birthday presents.
It seems like DS has many of the suggestion you put on there like the little basketball hoop and melissa doug blocks.
I'm going to get a bunch of those melissa doug puzzles. i like the house one you suggested.

We moved back to the city so I was going to do it at Moon Soup. I'm sure LI has it too.
