Re: has anyone added on a garage to their house??
Someone near me just added an attached garage. I believe it is on Tower lane in levittown.
If you are on glade lane.....towards tower lane you will be facing the house.
It is a dormered cape with an extended kitchen and a new garage with the carraige style door.
The house is grey. The door is white.
Very nice work.

yea im wondering with our cape if we should have it atttached or not... im guessing if we attach it to the house we would not be able to have a window in our bathroom anymore..?

My garage is attached and I have the bathroom window still, but my kitchen was first extended into the breezeway, and the back of the kitchen where it was extended in still a breezeway and I have a door to my garage on one wall and on the other wall the bathroom and back bedroom window.

ok i gotcha.. .i have seen these types in levittown also! i love the idea!
we were maybe thinking about extending the kitchen then the garage..but not sure how much this will cost.. i guess we have to get a couple quotes for different options!

The town determines how close to the curb you can go. You can always apply for a variance to go past the standard rules. Our house is too close to the back fence, but we went to the town and got a variance approved to allow it. Lots of people do that. I went to two variance hearings, and both times there were at least a dozen people who the town allowed to build past the allowed limits.
