hardwood... vs...laminate
what is the main difference - we need to rip up a carpet in our living room - which we hardly use 'cause we have a den. Our cat has been sick peeing all over it for months now -time to just get rid of it and putting down new carpet would be a waste - this is crazy that we have to do this for a PET but I have no choice :( it sucks.
I would love to just buy the supplies to and save some money do any companies just install without supply the wood? I heard Home Depot and Lumber Liquidators have good pricing.

Re: hardwood... vs...laminate
We had laminate and our dog peed on it and it lifted like crazy! When I told the store what happened they said its the acid in urine that does that to laminate, not just any liquid. If you we're nervous from kids spilling and you know you'd be able to. Lean it right away I'd say go for laminate, but if its urine - stick with hardwood. Not worth the damage IMO

Re: hardwood... vs...laminate
not to be a naysayer here... but if your cat is going to continue to have accidents, I think you're wasting your time, the cat can ruin both wood and laminate.
we have site finished hardwood, our cat has had a few accidents, and clean up hasn't been bad, but we were catching pretty quick, and she stopped, she had an infection that we treated.
I don't think if this was an every day occurance I would choose either.
honestly, if this is a continued problem, I'm not sure I'd even do tile. Maybe sheet vinyl?
