We had a problem at our house last week--at first we didn't know what had happened since we were not home when it occurred, but we later found out that part of a tree fell on our power line and knocked it down. A neighbor called LIPA about it, and when LIPA came, they reattached the line, but informed us that the old attachment was not done correctly and we would need a new attachment from an electrician.

So an electrician came and reattached for us (we also upgraded our amps while we were at it), and he asked us if we were putting this through our insurance. Being new homeowners, we really hadn't even thought about it, but decided to call State Farm to see if they would cover the reattachment.

They said they would, and within 2 days, we had a check for the amount they covered after our deductible was met! Very happy with them--just wanted to pass this story along.
