OMG, it's Purim. My best guy friend usually makes HamenTashen and then I know it's Purim. But I think he is mad at me.
I should call him and say that Purim is a time of forgiveness and I need HamenTashen.

Chag Sameach means happy holiday.
Purim is the holiday when we read the scroll of esther (the book of esther in the jewish bible).
we celebrate the salvation of the jewish people and dress up in costumes of the characters in the story (or anything you want). it is a day of celebration and adults are supposed to drink so that they cannot tell the difference between the hero, Mordechai, and the villan, Haman, of the story.
hamantaschen are triangular cookies filled with sweet filling (prunes, poppyseed, apricot jelly, raspberry jelly or anything you want).
the villan of the story, haman, wore a three-cornered hat, so hamantaschen (which literally means the poppyseed pocket in yiddish) came to be known as haman's hat or haman's pocket cookies.
