Hanging pictures?
Does anyone have a fool proof way of hanging more than one picture? We are trying to hang 4. 2 up & 2 down. We can never get them to look even. Its sooooo freaking fustrating! DH & I always end up doing it half-azz. Then tells me he can live with it and I should.

Re: Hanging pictures?
are they the same size? Usually what i do I mark the first one and then draw a line to one size down. I put the picture up and from that point I can organize the rest.

Re: Hanging pictures?
they sell levels that have a laser that goes across the wall. never tried one, but sounds like that may help hang them them evenly

Re: Hanging pictures?
If you are trying to lay out a bunch, I would make templates from newspaper (cut to the same size as the frames) and then place and re-arrange the templates to your liking.
Once you have found a layout you like, replace the templates with the actual frames one at a time.
A trick that I saw on a decorating show that works GREAT:
take a clean paint stirer (the free ones from HD) and screw a screw through the bottom of it so that the point of the screw is coming out the other side. hang the picture from the top side of the screw (the point that is sticking out will be against the wall). Move the stick around until you get the frame to where you want it to be. When it is where it looks good, press against the frame and the screw. It will make a mark on the wall and that is where you should hammer the nail.
This works really well when you are trying to hang 2 pictures next to each other at the same height.

Re: Hanging pictures?
DH is much more anal than i am - he uses the laser level and measures the wall and the size of the pictures and figures it all out mathematically
i just eyeball it and live with how it looks
