hands peeling

My DS is two weeks old today - He have been wearing long sleeve shirts with the mitten - I just cut and filed his nails so I can put him in short sleeve stuff, anyway his hands, up to his wrist are peeling

Should I out something on his hands - like cream? or just let it be?

Let it be. His skin is just getting used to air. If it gets really bad, ask your pediatrician. Be careful what you put on - most of the scented stuff stinged Maddie. I finally bought Shea Butter cream for her.

Re: hands peeling

Bella peeled for a few weeks no matter what we did. Doc said we could put Aveeno lotion on so it didn't dry out, but that it's completely normal...

My son is 16 days old and his hands are peeling up to his wrists too (his little feets are too). I put lotion on his feet but not his hands because he puts them in his mouth all the time. I read that it's ok to let it be and peel naturally.

Re: hands peeling

The peeling is very normal and you don't have to do anything for it. We used Aveeno but you can just leave it unless it is really bothering you.
